Fraction Millionaire is a fast-paced, two-player math game inspired by the “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” format—built to help students master equivalent fractions through multiple engaging question types and friendly competition.

Players take turns answering fraction challenges to climb a money ladder from small winnings all the way to $1,000,000. Each question is worth a specific dollar amount, and the current level is highlighted so students can clearly see their progress. The game mixes several interaction styles to keep learners engaged:

  • Multiple-choice questions (identify equivalent fractions, compare fractions with common denominators, choose unit fractions, and spot the fraction that is not equivalent)
  • Typed-response questions (enter a fraction equal to 1 whole, or type an equivalent fraction that isn’t identical to the original)
  • Drag-and-drop rounds where students match equivalent fractions to their targets—and avoid decoys

Correct answers move the player up the ladder, while incorrect answers drop them down levels, adding real “game show” tension while reinforcing fraction reasoning. A countdown timer keeps the pace moving, and optional sound effects (with an on-screen audio unlock to satisfy browser rules) provide instant feedback and excitement without forcing audio.

This is a great fit for partner practice, math centers, review days, or small-group competition, because it blends strategy, accuracy, and repeated exposure to equivalent fraction concepts in a high-energy format.
